County Historical Markers

In light of our mutual interest in collaborating with other organizations for the advancement of history, education, and the greater public good, the Jackson District Library and the Jackson County Michigan Historical Society agreed in 2023 to cooperate on a project designed to inform Jackson residents about JCMHS historical markers.

JCMHS officials began their county historical marker program in 2021, with the unveiling of the society's first marker, "DeLand Point: A Humanitarian Hub." The work continues to highlight a number of buildings, people, and places that make Jackson County special. For a full list of county markers, click the "Marker List" button on this page.
