Spring Arbor Branch

In 1965, three residents of the Spring Arbor community approached the Jackson County Library about starting a library in Spring Arbor. A corner of the fire station, behind the fire trucks, was the library’s location until 1982 when the township built a new office and the library moved in. When a new firehouse was built in 1992, the library moved back to the fire barn without the trucks, sirens, water, and cold.

JDL officials purchased the former Spring Arbor Senior Center from Spring Arbor Township in March of 2022, and over the course of the year renovated and upgraded the building to create the new and improved Spring Arbor Branch library. The new library opened to the public in early 2023.
