Library card number and PIN are required to access these resources. If you do not know your PIN, please visit a branch with your photo ID and library card or call your branch for information on how to obtain your PIN over the phone.

Hoopla Digital Streaming Service logo

JDL card holders can download the free hoopla digital mobile app on Android or IOS devices or visit the hoopla web site to begin. Enjoy thousands of titles – from major Hollywood studios, record companies and publishers – available to borrow for instant streaming or temporary downloading to smartphones, tablets and computers.

  1. Register for an account by visiting www.hoopladigital.com
    or using the hoopla app on your iOS or Android mobile
    device. On your first visit, click on "Sign Up". You will need to agree to the Hoopla's terms of service, provide an
    email address, create a password, and have your library
    card information. The free mobile app can be found in the
    Apple App Store or the Google Play Store.
  2. Browse titles on your computer or mobile device by
    clicking Browse and choosing the Music, Movies,
    Audiobooks, or Television tab. You can also search for a
    specific title by clicking on the Search box and typing in
    your title/keyword.
  3. To borrow a title click on the titles icon and then click the
    Borrow button. The borrowed titled can be found under the
    My Titles tab for viewing/listening. Borrowed titles will be automatically returned when your
    lending period is over.

Find downloadable MP3 and WMA audiobooks - all iPod compatible.

Access OneClickdigital

Recorded Books' NetLibrary audiobooks are now OneClick. You will find downloadable audiobooks previously found on NetLibrary here.

  1. You may search for titles without an account.
  2. When you are ready to download, you will need to set up your OneClick account using your Jackson District Library card number.
  3. Download the OneClick Media Manager software (you will be prompted).
  4. Pick your checkout length of time.

Freegal Music

Freegal Music Service consists of content licensed from Sony Music Entertainment.

How it works:

  • Library users have a weekly download limit of 3 MP3s. You will be able to keep track of your downloads in the upper right corner of the site. Every song has a sample clip you can listen to before you download.
  • The downloads on this site are all in the MP3 format with no DRM. This service will work with any MP3 player, including iPod, and can be loaded into iTunes.  It works on both PCs and Macs.

BookFlix

BookFlix is a new online literacy resource that pairs classic video storybooks with related nonfiction eBooks from Scholastic to build a love of reading and learning.

 

 

 

TumbleBooks for Kids

The TumbleBookLibrary is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books). TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.

 

The TumbleBookLibrary is also available in español.

Tumblereadables

Tumblebookcloud is an online collection of read-along titles for elementary, middle school, and high school students which features adjustable online text and complete audio narration. Sentences are highlighted as they are being read and the pages turn automatically. The collection features chapter books, early readers, YA/Teen Novels, high interest/low level books for both middle school and high school students, plus classics of American and English literature.
