Around the World in 9 Days

Welcome to your quest: Travel the world and experience the art and activities of people all around the globe to acquire all the flags along the way. Where will you travel next? Egypt, Peru, Tanzania, France? Navigate the customs and traditions of each country to continue your quest to visit all 13 countries represented at the Jackson District Library!

All art and activities are available during branch open hours until 30 minutes before each branch closes during the week of Spring Break (March 28-April 5). Navigate 3 countries to earn a prize and navigate 7 countries to earn a second prize. If you navigate 10 countries, you will be entered into a grand prize drawing.

Express Yourself!

Join us as we celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month this Spring and upcycle an old t-shirt into a creative bag as well as designing a personalized journal. All materials provided.

British Christmas Crackers

Create authentic British Christmas Crackers! Confetti and motto will be provided for the center. If you wish to add a toy, etc. it must fit in a toilet paper tube.

Beginner Christmas Cards

Join us to learn some basic card making skills including using a paper trimmer, embossing envelopes and paper punches. Make 2 cards and a nice tag to share with family and friends.

Halloween Scarecrow Contest

Stop by the Springport or Parma Branches to pick up a t-post and create an original scarecrow to display on Main Street in Springport and in the Park next to the library in Parma! We’ll have suggestions for designs and a list of where you can get straw, too.

All entries receive a special “goodie” and certificate and the two winning entries (under 12 and over 12) receive a basket of neat Fall stuff!

Drop off scarecrows during library open hours October 14-24. All entries will be displayed through October 31.
