Great Michigan Read eBook Available

The Great Michigan Read aims to connect us as Michiganders by deepening our understanding of our state, our society, and our humanity. The 2017-18 Great Michigan Read title is X: A Novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon. The Carnegie Branch of Jackson District Library will be hosting multiple events exploring the early life of Malcolm X and the History of the KKK in Mid-Michigan, including two expert-led discussions and a film screening of Malcom X by Spike Lee. For any questions, please email adultservices@myjdl.com

As part of a new pilot initiative, JDL has purchased the licensing access to X: a novel by Ilyasah Shabazz and Kekla Magoon for three months. This access ends on June 13, so anyone with a library card can read this book simultaneously and will not have to wait on hold.
