Summer Reading Starts Soon
Everything starts on Saturday June 10 with our Build a Better World SRP 2017 Super Saturday Summer Sign-up Celebration. Stop in at your local branch between 11am and 1pm to sign up for Summer Reading and collect your free sign up prize. Build a snack and a “badge keeper” for your Summer Reading badges.
We’ll have special events at all of our branches this summer, including Zeemo the Yo-Yo Man, ventriloquist Richard Paul, Michigan Science Center, the Howell Nature Center and more. There will be programs just for little ones including Little Builders and Growing Hearts – Sprouts Music Program, teen programs that include a Teen Mystery to solve, STEM programming and our 5th annual LEGO contest. Adult programs include Concerts on the Carnegie Library front lawn, canvas art, and much more!
Kids and teens can join us at the Carnegie Library for a free lunch every weekday from June 19 – August 11 at 12 noon and stay for digital stories immediately following lunch.
Make sure to practice your reading over the summer and earn badges for reading. You can earn fun badges for doing activities as well. Log on to http://myjdl.beanstack.org to register for Summer Reading for babies, kids, teens and adults. If you registered last year, all you need to do is sign in and sign up for this year’s program. If you didn’t register last year, you can register online or stop at your local branch. Read between June 10 and July 31 to collect fun prizes and enter to win the grand prize – a $50 Meijer Gift Card.
