Hi, I have an interesting connection to Jackson history that I wanted to share. My 4GGrandfather was Thomas Richardson of Truxton, NY and his son, Stillman Richardson was a physician in Niles, MI. In 1844, Thomas and his companion “Aunt Patty” were traveling to Niles by train and stopped at the Eagle Hotel in Jackson. Stillman received a letter ( I have the original) from Mark Stebbins/Stubbins with the following text:
    “Jackson, July 18th 1844 Mr S. Richardson
Dear Sir – Your Father and Mother arrived at this place by yesterdays train of Cars. The Old Gentleman was very feeble and stuped and we found it necessary to Call a Physician who said it would be a mere chance if he recovered. We took all the possible care of him in our powers but it seemed to do no good, he died last night about 11 Oclock. The Old Lady wishes you to meet her at this place as Soon as Convenient. Mark Stubbins, Eagle Hotel”

I’ve included a link to the document that I posted on I’d welcome any additional information that might be in your records concerning this incident. This is all i have.

Hope you find it interesting. Chris Fox

Wondering if anyone has any information on Charles Graham ANDERSON who was born 14 April 1880 in Denny Stirlingshire Scotland. The only information I have is that at sometime Charles went to the USA and I have him at Jackson Michigan, occup:machinist for Frost Gear & Forge Co.
Would appreciate any help as he is my grandfathers brother. Would appreciate any contact with anyone researching Charles’s family.
    Many thanks

Is there anyone who might look city directories and see if there’s a Melodyn Bielfuss(Billie) or a Lorelei Mcelevey and maybe under Latham(Kriston)?

Melodyn & Lorelei’s maiden names are Mcelevey. I know they lived in Jackson, MI in May 1976 from their mothers obituary, Anna Marie Zepeda.
