Build a Better World Short Film Contest

Calling all teens! Create a 1-1 ½ minute short film around the topic of building or making a better world (J.D.L.’s 2017 Summer Reading theme). Don’t have that much experience in filmmaking? No problem. The Meijer Branch has a Digital Studio with editing software and knowledgeable technicians who can answer questions and help direct you towards free resources.

 

All footage must be original. No copyright infringement.

All projects must be submitted on a DVD or USB by Tuesday, August 1, 2017 by 6 p.m. to the Meijer Branch.

Judging will be done by the Friends of the Meijer Library. Winners will be selected by August 30, 2017. Prizes to be announced.

The top ten films will be posted to Jackson District Library’s Social Media.

Rating: Movies must be rated “G” by today’s MPAA standards

Formats: mp4, avi, or mov. (Finalized DVD in Region Code 0)
