2019 “Poets Among Us,” Young Poets Contest Community Celebration

The Jackson District Library is honored to present the 15th annual “Poets Among Us,” Young Poets Contest Community Celebration to be held on Tuesday, April 16th at 6:00 pm at the Middle School at Parkside, 2400 4th St.   This year’s Guest Poet, Kalli Dakos, award-winning author of The Goof Who Invented Homework, Why Am I Blue?, Our Principal Promised to Kiss a Pig and other delightful stories, will be our featured speaker and assist in presenting awards to our 48 winning young poets.

We would like to thank the 852 K-12th grade student authors from throughout Jackson County who expressed themselves through poetry.  Special congratulations to the families, teachers and administrators for encouraging and supporting their efforts.  The list of award winning students, as well as the text of their poems, will be available at myjdl.com in late April.
